Lighthouse Monitoring

Lighthouse is a tool that gives you insight into how well your website is performing. By tracking your Lighthouse scores over time you can get insights when a change on your website has caused a decline or improvement in your website's performance. Lighthouse has a few main categories and a lot of small audits that tell you how the website is performing.
It's a good idea to monitor different types of pages such as a blog page if you're running a blog or a product page if you have an e-commerce site.

Vigilant will run Lighthouse periodically and notify when:

  • Your Lighthouse score changes in a main category

  • One of the audits has changed.

Vigilant will calculate your average change in Lighthouse scores over multiple periods of time so that you have an idea of how your site's performance changes over time.

Setting up Lighthouse monitoring

There are two ways of setting up Lighthouse monitoring in Vigilant. You can enable Lighthouse monitoring for a site by selecting your site and enabling it under the Lighthouse tab. Here you can add pages to monitor Lighthouse.

It is also possible to create individual Lighthouse monitors which are not linked to a site by using the Add button on the Lighthouse page.

All you need to set up a Lighthouse monitor is a URL and interval.
